Beecham Community Center
The
Beecham Community Center brought church leaders and members, community residents, small businesses, and organizations together to collaborate on education and training in environmental justice projects. Their project aimed to lower the high energy cost burdens, educate people about safe and healthy solutions and result in tangible improvements in quality of life and environment for their communities.
The project helped confront struggle by teaching a 12-week Know Your Home Course to community members, conducting solar and weatherization assessments, and completing weatherization and environmental repair projects on the Beecham Outreach Center. They also held multiple community events to build stronger community ties around climate action.
